A traffic warden issued a ticket to a good Samaritan after he pulled over and helped a woman who had been run over.
George Echenhofer, from Philadelphia, was looking for a parking spot at his work last Wednesday when he saw the car in front of him run over an elderly woman as she was crossing the street.
Mr Echenhofer pulled over, put on his hazard lights and rushed to the woman's side.

The driver of the other car had also stopped and was visibly shaken so Mr Echenhofer, an IT director, helped to calm him while directing traffic around the accident until medics arrived.
According to the Philadelphia Daily News, as the ambulance crew was helping the victim into the ambulance, Mr Echenhofer noticed a parking enforcment officer putting a ticket on his Volkswagen -which was parked in a truck-loading zone that prohibited parking until 10am. It was 9.20.
Mr Echenhofer said he shouted: 'I said, "Hey, don't give me a ticket! There's been an accident and I'm helping!" The guy wouldn't listen. He was actually nasty.'
Even when a police officer who was on the scene pleaded on his behalf, the warden refused to withdraw it.

  1. It is incomprehensible when you get ticketed for helping a victim who has been hit by a car.
