California town shaken as police officers arrested - Yahoo News

KING CITY, Calif. (AP) — Residents of a California farming town were grappling Wednesday with the feeling that their trust has been violated after learning the acting police chief and a handful of officers were charged with crimes including selling or giving away the impounded cars of poor Hispanic residents.
The misgivings had been building for some time. Investigators heard people — many unable to speak English — complain that police were taking their cars and money, and there was nothing they could do about it.
"I'm not at all surprised by the arrests, I'm just surprised there weren't more charges," restaurateur Vivian Villa said Wednesday in Spanish while sizzling a pan of beef in preparation for the lunch rush. "Now maybe some of them are going to feel what we feel when they target us."
Later in the day, Villa held a meeting in her little restaurant where about a dozen community members spoke out against police abuse and corruption.

Annapolis police chief apologizes for citing hoax story in testimony against marijuana legalization - CapitalGazette.com: Under The Dome

Annapolis Police Chief Michael A. Pristoop

Testifying against bills proposed to legalize and decriminalize marijuana in the state, Annapolis Police Chief Michael Pristoop cited a hoax story that claimed 37 people had died the first day marijuana was legalized in Colorado.
“The first day of legalization, that’s when Colorado experienced 37 deaths that day from overdose on marijuana,” Pristoop testified at Tuesday’s Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee hearing. “I remember the first day it was decriminalized there were 37 deaths.”
But Sen. Jamie Raskin, D-Montgomery, who has proposed a bill that would legalize, regulate and tax the drug, immediately fact-checked Pristoop.
“Unless you have some other source for this, I’m afraid I’ve got to spoil the party here,” Raskin said. “Your assertion that 37 people died of a marijuana overdose in Colorado was a hoax on the DailyCurrant and the Comedy Central website.”

Officer Regina Tasca who was with the Bogota Police Department in New Jersey, was called to help a mom with her Mentally-Challenged son.  Two back-up officers arrived from a different department, and began beating the boy.  Regina tried to pull them off of him and STOP the beat down.  The boy was taken to the hospital with cuts and bruises.  Regina was FIRED ... the other two officers were never even questioned.  She is suing ... and her legal bills are astronomical.

The TSA is looking for Bitcoin - Daily Anarchist

It seems like every time I fly I have an interesting interaction with the TSA. I make it a point to always opt out, and if possible always strike up a conversation with the man molesting me. But yesterday was by far the most frightening, as well as cautionary for Bitcoin users. I’m going to begin simply by relaying the facts as observed, including some that will seem insignificant at first. Then I will provide some analysis, as well as speculation what’s going on here. What’s absolutely clear is that the TSA is looking for Bitcoin, and Bitcoin users need to be conscious when they travel, especially internationally.
I was flying out of Manchester, on my way home from the New Hampshire Liberty Forum. By coincidence I ran into Bill Buppert from ZeroGov.com  and his wife while checking my luggage. And we happened to be taking the same flight. I met Bill last week at the Freedom Summit in Arizona, spent time with him again at Liberty Forum, and we have become fast friends. Without his help, I’m not sure what would have happened to me.
I was wearing my Bitcoin Not Bombs hoodie which features an image of a B17 bomber dropping Bitcoin from its bomb bay doors. The sweatshirt does not feature the words “Bitcoin Not Bombs” only the image.
We approached the TSA screening and began to put our things in the gray bins. My things required two bins. One for my backpack and shoes, and the other for my laptop and phone. I asked the greeting officer to point me to the opt-out line. Bill immediately told the agent that he would also like to opt-out, and he thanked me for making that choice.
Bill went first, but I was told to stand right beside him. Bill’s strategy is very simple, and effective. He plainly told the officer, “I understand, but please don’t touch my dick.” This immediately perturbed the agent, a man named Tinker, which was the only name badge I saw clearly. Tinker immediately called over a superior officer.

The War On Drugs Needs To End

The War on Drugs needs to end.

What is worse a few drug addicts or the out of control cops killing and maiming innocent people all over the country?

From the research I have done I have found that there is a steady number of people who will be addicts no matter what the penalty is for doing drugs, that number is around 3% of the population.

Using the War on Drugs cops are raiding houses at a clip of 40,000 SWAT raids a year. When I saw this number I was floored. They are also robbing people at gun point. Anyone carrying any amount of cash if pulled over by cops will have that money stolen from them under the Asset Forfeiture Law. Cops assume that because you're carrying cash you MUST be a drug dealer.

Families are being ripped apart by the State because someone in the family was caught with drugs. The drug addict is put in a cage and since he can no longer work the wife and the kids become wards of the state. Some times the kids are handed over to CPS and the kids end up dead, just because the parents smoked a joint.
Also the War on Drugs has become a huge financial drain on us. In 2014 the budget for the War on Drugs is 20 BILLION dollars! How many drug addicts could be helped with 20 billion dollars? My guess is all of them and you can throw in every alcoholic as well and still have plenty left over.

There is no doubt in my mind that the War on Drugs is much much worse than legal drugs, all drugs. we should try compassion instead of cages. Drug addicts are afraid of coming forward for help because they know they will be arrested. How about we give them help instead. Isn't that better than ruining a whole family's life?
I think so.

Cops Hit A Parked Car Then Arrested The Owner For "Destruction Of City Property" - No Army Can Stop An Idea

Two Brooklyn cops sideswiped a parked SUV, then arrested a man sitting in the passenger seat of the vehicle, accusing him of damaging their car, a suit charges.
And the officers would have gotten away with their lie — had the whole bizarre drama not been caught by a security camera.

Robert Jackson, 31, told The Post his nightmare began when a police car heading the wrong way on one-way Watkins Street in Brownsville scraped against a parked Ford Explorer, which belongs to his girlfriend.

Jackson, a maintenance worker, said he was sitting in the legally parked car outside of his apartment when the accident happened. He got out of the vehicle and walked up to the officers.

“I was smiling, like, ‘How’d you run into me?’” he recalled. “Then the cop said, ‘Dude, you ran into me.’”

“I just wanted them to fix the damage and apologize, but it didn’t turn out that way,” Jackson said. “They were trying to cover it up.”

At that point, things got even more surreal.
