BRIGHTON, Colo. -- When the Boulder district attorney filed felony charges against a Brighton firefighter last week, two things stood out. It stood out that the charges were filed by an independent prosecutor, and that the charges were filed nearly a month after the violent assault.
When Randall Cleveland was finally arrested he was charged with aggravated assault, stalking, child abuse and two other felonies.
“He's an abuser and he shouldn't be a firefighter. He's not the person everybody makes him out to be,” says a woman who fears Randall Cleveland. FOX31 Denver is not identifying her because she’s afraid. “He's the most horrible person I've ever met.”
She’s telling her friend’s story because her friend cannot. She’s in-hiding. Randy Cleveland first married her friend in 2006. The affidavit used for his arrest says the abuse started almost immediately.
“There were physical marks. There were verbal threats,” she said.
In court documents, Cleveland`s wife claims he pushed her down the stairs, hit her with a hammer and even stomped on her with his firefighter boot. She claims he hurt their children, too.
But she says the only thing worse than the suspected abuse was the suspected cover up.

Police Officer Search, Traffic stop rights, Police Searches, Police Rights
"Am I free to go?"
"I don't consent a search."
"I'm going to remain silent."
To stop you a police officer must have a specific reason to suspect your involvement in a specific crime and should be able to tell you that reason when you ask. This is known as reasonable suspicion. A police officer usually will pull you over for some type of "traffic violation," such as speeding or maybe not using your blinker. Throwing a cigarette butt or a gum wrapper out your car window is reason enough for the police to pull you over, ticket you for littering and start asking you all sorts of personal questions.

Scientists Uncover How CBD Treats MS, Alters Cholesterol Metabolism
5/25/2011 - Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychotropic compound found in the Cannabis plant that is currently being exploited by researchers for its therapeutic properties. CBD is usually the second most abundant compound found in the plant.
A research team devoted to studying the effects of Cannabidiol (CBD) on the immune system has made a series of breakthroughs that may have uncovered a mechanism of CBD’s actions (Kozela 2009, Rimmerman 2011, Juknat 2011). The team may have discovered the specific genes responsible for some of CBD’s therapeutic effects. This type of research could be a big leap forward.
Previously the same team had shown that CBD can effectively treat the symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis in mice. This is in agreement with earlier research published by other labs throughout the world.

Cannabis - A Century of Medical Uses
From Paracelsus to World War II:
Although Medical Cannabis had been in use for thousands of years before the creation of Western Medicine, most modern day antique Cannabis collectors seem to have little interest in ancient Egyptian Jars, or Assyrian Clay tablets.
This chapter therefore, limits itself solely to those uses that [established] Western Medicine, made of it, and then ONLY if mentioned in contemporary and reputable Medical Journals.

OBAMA'S MARXIST MIND
Obama: Unneeded Income Belongs to the Government « Commentary Magazine
President Obama’s press conference yesterday—in which he only took questions from left-leaning reporters apparently–contained an amazing statement. It should be noted the first two instances of the first person singular pronoun in the sentence refer to Barack Obama, President of the United States. The second two refer to Barack Obama, taxpaying citizen:
And I do not want, and I will not accept, a deal in which I am asked to do nothing, in fact, I’m able to keep hundreds of thousands of dollars in additional income that I don’t need, while a parent out there who is struggling to figure out how to send their kid to college suddenly finds that they’ve got a couple thousand dollars less in grants or student loans.
There is, of course, nothing whatever stopping Barack Obama, taxpaying citizen, fromdonating his excess income to the United States Treasury. But his statement demonstrates an astonishing economic illiteracy. To be sure, someone earning a great deal of money has an income greater than what he spends. You can only spend so much on luxurious living however hard you try, a reality so rich with comic possibilities that a 1902 novel called Brewster’s Millions has been made into a movie no fewer than nine times.

Lemonade Stand Kids Need a National Union | Arm your Mind for Liberty
This was not “the law’ that shut down Skylar Roberts and company. These are thugs. Every human being is free to engage in economic activity as she or he sees fit. When other people force your decisions upon you, that is exploitation and slavery. The bottom line here is that two or three big people with guns stopped 3 young girls from achieving their goals in a peaceful way. That’s the only thing that matters.
My son sold lemonade at the Porcupine Freedom Festival in Lancaster, New Hampshire last month. He reached his goal. He proposed a business and made it happen (we helped him of course). He served lemonade fresher, purer and healthier in a serving size and for a price you simply can not find elsewhere. His customers raved about the product! And sent more customers.
He earned not just dollars and silver, but also self-confidence and self-esteem. He proposed and he disposed. For a 5 year old, that’s quite a life lesson and I can already see the change in him. Every day he is proposing more and more productive projects.
The thugs in this video stopped these girls from reaching that very worthy goal. This needs to stop. I propose a national, nay, international, union of child lemonade vendors. Together and in contact, we can network. We can be stronger. When the police come to shut you down, we can flood them with phone goals and publicity. Cockroaches don’t like sunlight, but lemons certainly do!
Who wants to lead this project?

In AZ 1 gulp of NYQUIL an then Driving Punishable by 10 days Jail, $1000+ fines, 1 Year Mandatory Ignition Interlock, an 90 Day license Suspension... this is the power that Law Enforment in AZ now have...there is no more DUI... zero consumption/zero tolerance!!! ARIZONA’S DRUNK DRIVING LAWS There are basically three drunk driving crimes in Arizona. First, it is a crime in Arizona to operate or be in physical control of a motor vehicle [including water craft] while under the influence of alcohol or drugs [even drugs prescribed by a doctor]. It is not required that you be proven to be actually "drunk" to be convicted. "Under the influence" means that the suspect was “impaired in the slightest degree". The focus of this offense is whether at the time of operation or actual physical control of the vehicle was the operator impaired. 31 Year-Old Organic Farm To Be Replaced With Private Soccer Field | Care2 Causes

Farmer Nick Maravell has been growing food and raising cattle in a sustainable fashion for over 30 years. His efforts to grow food for his local community have been so successful, they earned him recognition from USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack who appointed Maravell to serve on the National Organic Standards Board, a panel of unpaid experts established by Congress to set organic industry policy.
But despite the fact that Nick’s 165-acre farm is one of the few certified organic heritage farms left in the United States and a place for the community to see and participate in the growing of its food, the local government wants to tear it up and plant turf grass in its place.

Two Navy Ships That Cost $300 Million Are Headed To The Scrapyard Without Having Seen A Day Of Service
According to Hampton Roads, the USNS Bejamin Isherwood and the USNS Henry Eckford were commissioned in 1985 at the Pennsylvania Shipbuilding Co. to carry fuel to the Navy's fleet around the globe.
Since then, the vessels have sat 95 and 84 percent complete at the mouth of the James River as part of the mothballed ghost fleet.
In 1997, the Navy cut its ties and British company Able UK considered re-commissioning them for international sale to a NATO country.

US more unpopular in the Arab world than under Bush - Glenn Greenwald - Salon.com
I've written numerous times over the last year about rapidly worsening perceptions of the U.S. in the Muslim world, including a Pew poll from April finding that Egyptians view the U.S. more unfavorably now than they did during the Bush presidency. Anew poll released today of six Arab nations -- Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Morocco -- contains even worse news on this front:
The hope that the Arab world had not long ago put in the United States and President Obama has all but evaporated.
Two and a half years after Obama came to office, raising expectations for change among many in the Arab world, favorable ratings of the United States have plummeted in the Middle East, according to a new poll conducted by Zogby International for the Arab American Institute Foundation.

"The US has stopped running its global network of secret prisons, CIA director Leon Panetta has announced. 'CIA no longer operates detention facilities or black sites,' Mr Panetta said in a letter to staff" - BBC, April 9, 2009
____________
Earlier this week, the truly intrepid investigative journalist Jeremy Scahill published in The Nation one of the most significant political exposés of the year. Entitled "the CIA's Secret Sites in Somalia," the article documented that the CIA uses and effectively controls a secret prison in Mogadishu, where foreign nationals who are rendered off the streets of their countries (at the direction of the U.S.) are taken (along with Somali nationals) to be imprisoned with no due process and interrogated (by U.S. agents). Although Somali government agents technically operate the facility, that is an obvious ruse: "US intelligence personnel pay the salaries of intelligence agents and also directly interrogate prisoners" and are "there full-time," Scahill reported. OnDemocracy Now on Wednesday, the International Committee of the Red Cross confirmed it has no knowledge of this secret prison.
This arrangement, as Scahill told me yesterday, is consistent with standard Obama administration practice: "they continue even the most controversial Bush terrorism policies by having some other government technically operate it so they can keep their fingerprints off it." Indeed, the administration has even resorted to this playbook by using "torture by proxy" -- as we saw when the Kuwait government, with at least the complicity if not direction of the U.S., detained and beat American teenager Gulet Mohamed during interrogation sessions. Just yesterday, a federal judge "reacted skeptically" to the Obama DOJ's demands for dismissal of a lawsuit (on secrecy grounds) brought by an American citizen imprisoned for four months in Africa, where "U.S. officials threatened him with torture, forced disappearance and other serious harm unless he confessed to ties with al-Qaida in Somalia."
